Construction Details:

I cried. Alot.

It became apparent in early concepts that I really didn't want to make some overtly cartoony dress. I wasn't going to pull any punches, so to say. I wanted to make something that could pass as a real, 19th century, historical opera gown. So, I went with an 1865 elliptical skirt and a matching elliptical cage.rn

I just wanna say first and foremost, thank you to my beloved friend Frauline Ninja. YOU DA REAL MVP, BABE. This was my go-to girl for any and ALL of my historical fashion needs. She taught me everything I know about historical construction and answered all of my stupid accuracy woes. THANK YOU BABE, WHAT WOULD THIS COSTUME LOOK LIKE WITHOUT YOU?

Also, a HUGE thank you to Soulfire. This is a dream costume of mine that I've been too afraid to make, and she gave me the courage to start it. AND is crazy enough to fly out to Europe to see me to shoot this monster. Without her, this thing would still just be an itch in my pants. I love you, girl. Be with me always. And corroborate on my bumbpling plans. *crying*

Also, Thank you to Jason@i360. From conception to construction, he's been my sounding board for this costume. From wrangling in my rampant ideas to making costume improvement suggestions of what would look better on camera, this guy here has been there and done that for all my cray cray ideas.
