About this Costume
Construction Details:
The base pattern for the cape is Simplicity 5794. However it was altered to be shorter, to extend around the neck more, and have a collar. I used jean rivets for Sasuke's three snaps and then sewed in large snaps across the collar and small ones on the flap.

The pants were started from Simplicity 4760 but I took a lot of volume out from the sides and shortened them. I sewed in an invisible pocket on the seam of the left leg. This was my first pair of pants! Fly's are so tricky!

The shoes were patterned using the old method I learned for my first ninja shoes, but these ones were lined. I used a stretch satin blend. I painted the sides and bottoms of my sandals blue and then used E6000 glue to attach the fabric to the sandal. This time I used memory foam sandals rather than weak flip flops.

The vest and shirt were patterned by my awesome friend azayaka-cosplay.I appreciate her help so much especially with the deadline crunch. She also helped me fit everything. I sewed everything myself. I seam ripped a shirt that fit well for shape of the sleeve and armhole. The vest is made of a stretch woven suit material and the shirt is made of a thin suiting material. Everything was lined and understitched.

My belt is actually a belt made for my never completed Ashitaka cosplay (it was the right size and color!).

I used a dark blue suede trim for my sword holster. I sewed a loop into so my sword could easily slide in. The sword was a modified Devil May cry sword. I wrapped the grip in sports tape, painted the sheath, and superglued the suede onto the sheath.

My Rinnegan was custom made by http://www.samhaincontactlenses.com to include the Sharingan in the design.rnrn
Personal Thoughts:
I was happy beyond belief to wear this costume for New York Comic Con as a member of the Viz Media Naruto cosplay team! I fulfilled my dream of meeting Kishimoto, creator of my favorite manga, and made many funny and happy memories with new friends!

Trimmed and tapered the wig to frame my face better. Teased some parts for more volume as well.
